Pear Tree Honey Farm

Pear Tree Honey Farm was founded in 1983 by John Whent, who had long had a fascination with bees, having kept them as a teenager.

After living in Australia, John returned to the UK and set up Pear Tree Honey Farm at Eppleby, near Richmond in North Yorkshire. The business operated from Eppleby for many years, as John worked tirelessly to develop the business. As the business grew, so did John's obsession, passion and knowledge for bees. John, a keen engineer, built and made much of the equipment used by the business, as well as the custom kitted out vehicles.

John's honey is among the very best in the North. An exceptionally rich flavour and dark body, it pairs perfectly with our own.
