20 Years in the Making
In 2004, a seven year-old Dan took up beekeeping. Why? Because he loved bees and enjoyed opening boxes. So looking after bees in a box seemed like a great idea.
Dan's first hive produced honey - lots of it. But he was surprised to find that it tasted so much better than supermarket honey. And that got him thinking.
The idea finally came when gazing at the hive from his window. Wouldn't it be awesome if everyone could have the real, authentic honey he experienced? He thought it would.
Dan's mission was simple: to produce delicious, authentic honey on an intergalactic scale. And that's what he set out to do.
Making it Happen
Dan and the Bees is Born
Dan soon realised that setting up an intergalactic honey business needs money. So he decided to bide his time, keeping bees as a hobby. That was until he read news articles uncovering the scale of honey fraud in the UK.
He knew that something needed to be done. Fortunately, he had just the plan.
After finishing his education in 2023, Dan decided to pursue his longstanding dream of turning his beekeeping from a hobby into a business. The goal: to put delicious, authentic honey back on the map. But the business needed a name.
He realised that without his bees, nothing would change. The bees were his business partners. So it was simple: Dan and the Bees.
